What You’ll Experience at Mama’s Fish HouseRelaxing AtmosphereMama’s Fish House is the perfect place to unwind with family and friends. It’s located on Maui’s North Shore and easily accessible from the Road to Hana. Much like the rest of the island, the service is friendly and laid back; there’s no dress code, and many guests opt for comfortable resort wear. Mama’s also boasts an eclectic mix of Polynesian antiques and offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. Local Tip: Don’t forget to call ahead! Mama’s Fish House is often booked in advance. We recommend making a reservation at (808)-579-8488.
Fabulous MenuOf course, the best thing about Mama’s Fish House is the food. Local fishermen bring their catch directly to the restaurant where it’s processed and served within 24 hours. The daily menu even lists the names of the fisherman. At Mama’s, you know the seafood is fresh! Upon arrival, guests are treated to a loaf of homemade bread and butter and offered an appetizer of complementary poi. Poi is a traditional Hawaiian dish made from the fermented root of the taro plant. Then, choose from signature entrée options like Mama’s lobster and crab-stuffed fish, braised short ribs, and Makaweli Ranch tenderloin filet. (There’s usually a fresh vegetable option made with tempeh or tofu, too.) Be sure to save room for dessert; the Polynesian Black Pearl dish is an island staple and features chocolate passion fruit mousse inside an edible seashell. Yum!
