Top 5 Organic Farms on Maui

1. Ono Organic Farms

If you’re traveling Maui’s famous Road to Hana, plan to stop at Ono Farms. The 50-acre, the family-owned farm sits on the slopes of Haleakala and boasts thousands of tropical fruit trees. You’ll be surrounded by avocados, bananas, lychee, jackfruit, mango, and more! Everything on the farm is certified organic, and tours are available to teach visitors about the benefits of sustainable family farming.

Want to bring some goodies back to our inn? Check out the Ono Farms market in Hana Town. You can shop for exotic fruits, organic coffee beans, and roasted cacao (chocolate). The market is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.

2. Maui Dragon Fruit Farm

Lahaina is one of our favorite small towns on Maui, and it’s home to the beautiful Maui Dragon Fruit Farm. This 20-acre, USDA-certified organic farm boasts sixteen varieties of dragon fruit, one of the tastiest and healthiest fruits on the planet! Passion fruit, bananas, papayas, sugarcane, and pineapples are also grown here.

Bring the kids along for eco-friendly adventures on the property. The Dragon Fruit Farm offers a zipline, aqua ball activities, and guided tours that delve deeper into their organic farming practices. Enjoy it all with the West Maui Mountains as a backdrop.

Note: Dragon fruit season is July to November.

3. O’o Farm

O’o Farm in Kula is another must-see destination. What was once a modest, 8-acre farm in Maui’s Upcountry is now a flourishing facility with fruit trees, rows of vegetables, and greenhouses filled with edible flowers and herbs. O’o Farm is proud to supply these products to farm-to-table eateries like Pacific’O. If you see their name on the menu, you know the food is going to be good!

4. Ocean Vodka Organic Farm & Distillery

Vodka may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of organic farming in Maui. However, a trip to the Ocean Vodka Distillery should be on your vacation itinerary! Ocean Vodka is a certified 100% USDA organic product, and it’s the only vodka in the world made from organic sugar cane and deep ocean mineral water. Plus, it’s created using eco-friendly practices and responsible farming techniques! Take a tour to see how it’s made and find out why Ocean is the best-selling vodka in Hawaii.

5. Surfing Goat Dairy

There’s nothing quite like the taste of fresh, creamy goat cheese, and Surfing Goat Dairy is the perfect place to get it! This organic dairy farm has been producing gourmet, award-winning cheese for years. Tours of the state-of-the-art facility are available daily.
